With the start of Oktoberfest this weekend we have been looking at some of the history of how Oktoberfest began and how it is celebrated now. This German Beer Festival takes place in Munich and Bavaria as well as other parts of the world, where typical German Costume is worn and tents and venues have German Themed Decorations such as Flags, Balloons and Bunting. With the glorious summer that we have been having it has been great being able to have barbeques and Summer Parties. We have given some Summer Party Ideas including wearing Sunglasses and Hats and putting up Decorations such as Cutouts and Dangling Suns. Shot Glasses and Inflatatables add that extra touch of fun. We would love to know if you have attended any summer parties.

Having been in Brighton this weekend we enjoyed seeing the fun and atmosphere of the Gay Pride Parade. The crowds were all having a good time many dressed up in Fancy Dress Costumes, Hawaiian Leis and Fancy Dress Costume Accessories. There were also Rainbow Flags and Bunting put up outside bars and clubs. Please let us know if you were in Brighton this weekend and your experiences.

Today we are congratulating William and Kate on the birth of their son who was born at 4:24 yesterday afternoon. The celebrations spread through the country yesterday with Union Jack Flags and Bunting and It's A Boy Banners and Balloons being put up. We would love to know if you have been as glued to watching as we have and what you think the babys name will be.

It is almost the due date for Kate and Prince Williams baby to be born and we have been talking about whether Kate had a Baby Shower. If she did it would have been full of girlie fun and Baby Shower Decorations and Banners as well as Baby Shower Games played. We would love to hear all about your Baby Shower experiences.

Novelties Direct would like to congratulate Andy Murray on winning the Wimbledon Final yesterday and making history. There were crowds of people watching and supporting Andy Murray yesterday including many Celebrites and Sportsmen. We would love to know where you watched yesterdays final and if you were at Wimbledon with Face Paints and Banners.

With the thought of hot weather arriving tomorrow I am now planning a Hawaiian Barbeque this weekend. I am going to use Disposable Tableware to avoid too much clearing up and we will wear Hawaiian Leis and Hawaiian Margarita Glasses. A Palm Tree Drinks Cooler will keep our drinks readily availabe and cold. Please let us know how you will be spending this weekend and enjoying the weather.

ay.This week we have been really busy preparing for American Independence Day on 4th July. There are celebrations including Barbeques and Picnics. The American Flag and Bunting is put up in homes and businesses and this also happens outside of America where American Decorations are displayed in restaurants and bars. Please let us know how you are celebrating American Independence Day.

This Saturday 29th June is Armed Forces Day. This is an essential day to raise awareness and support for the Army, the Royal Navy and the Royal Air Force. The national event is in Nottingham but you can show support by putting up Union Jack Bunting, Flags and Decorations and getting together with friends for Union Jack Themed street parties, barbeques and picnics. We would love to know how you are supporting this day.

Wimbledon begins today with Andy Murray playing on Centre Court so there will no doubt be plenty of Face Masks being worn among the crowd. He is hoping to make history by winning this year and we have been looking at some of the traditions of Wimbledon such as using Outdoor Tablewear for strawbwerries and cream and wearing Sunglasses and Umbrella Hats for the changing weather.
