I really enjoyed seeing The Great Gatsby last night. I enjoy the 1920s Age seeing the women in Flapper Dresses and men in Trousers with Braces and the Costume Accessories of Cigarette Holders, Wigs, Feather Headdresses and Boas. Leonardo Dicaprio was the perfect Jay Gatsby and the story was portrayed well. We would love to know if you have seen the film and what you thought.
I went to see the Great Gatsby last night and really enjoyed it, as well as a good story I love the Roaring 20's, Jazz Age Era. Based on the classic book by F. Scott Fitzgerald this film had all the Glamour of that time with lavish parties, the women dressed in fabulous Flapper Dresses and the men looking smart in Suits and Braces. Pearl Necklaces, Cigarette Holders and Feather Tiaras were the popular fashion accessories. Leonardo Dicaprio played Jay Gatsby with Tobey Maguire playing Nick Carraway his neighbour and Carey Mulligan played Daisy Buchannan Gatsby's lost love. The story sees Gatsby having aspired to the American Dream of wealth and throwing parties hoping to attract Daisy back into his life. The release of this well known story has also inspired lots of Great Gatsby Themed parties with lots of Fancy Dress Costumes and Accessories being bought to create the traditional 1920's feel.
Have you seen the film yet? Are you planning to go?
