With Oktoberfest now well underway we have been looking at some of the history of this famous Beer Festival which is held in Munich. Parades can be seen with people dressed in traditional Lederhosen Costume and there are plenty of Beer Tents to visit. You can also celebrate here with German Themed Decorations, beer and Balloons. Oktoberfest is now well underway taking place in Germany. Munich hosts this annual celebration of beer which lasts for 16 days going from September - October. These festivities were first held in 1810 as a tribute to the marriage of Prince Ludwig to Princess Therese-Von Sachsen-Hildburghausen. This began on October 12th and ended on October 17th with a horse race but Oktoberfest now starts in September due to warmer evenings. A highlight for this event is a Costume and Riflemans Parade where individuals can be seen wearing traditional Lederhosen dress. There is also of course 14 beer tents to be visited. It must be a fantastic experience to go to Germany for the Oktoberfest celebrations. You can of course celebrate here with lots of beer, Decorations and Balloons.
