Today I am talking about how many schools are next week acknowledging Book Week by giving children the chance to browse through and buy books and many are able to Dress Up as their favourite Book Character such as Postman Pat, Robin Hood or Snow White. I think that this is such a great way to encourage a love of books and we would love to know if your children are Dressing Up and if you are a book worm, if you have any recommendations please share them with us.
Next week my Nephews primary school as well as many others are embracing Book Week. As a bit of a book worm myself I think that this is such a fantastic way to encourage a love of books and reading ( I am always on at my kids to read more)!! During this week many children can Dress Up as their favourite Book Character, my Nephew is Dressing Up as Where's Wally and his friends are looking forward to Dressing Up as the popular Postman Pat and Maid Marion. This is also a great way to bring many classic much loved stories to life such as Peter Pan , Pinnochio, Robin Hood, Little Red Riding Hood and Snow White. There is also an opportunity for the children to browse and buy books throughout the week.
Will your children be dressing up as their favourite book character? Are you a big reader? Any recommendations?
