Mardi Gras

Mardi Gras is on 28^th February and celebrated in Louisiana. These festivities last for two weeks and there is generally one main parade each day although many days have a number of parades with the most elaborate taking place in the last five days. Within the final week there are balls which are often masquerade balls. Tourists tend to go to the carnival activities on Bourbon Street.
