The Eurovision Song Contest will soon be on our screens. The 18th May will see the return of this traditional Song Contest seeing countries battling to win first place. This is the ideal time for get-togethers while waving Flags and supporting your Countries entry. This years Eurovision Song Contest is being held in Sweden and Bonnie Tyler is representing the Uk. This years Eurovision Song Contest is taking place in Malmo, Sweden on the 18th May. Bonnie Tyler is representing the UK and Benny Anderson and Bjorn Ulvaeus from Abba have composed The Eurovision Anthem,'we write the story'. The first contest was held in Lugano on the 24th May 1956 and Abba who won in 1974 has been the most successful winner. Jonny Logan has won three times, twice as a performer for Ireland and once as a writer. Ireland has won the Eurovision seven times and Luxembourg, France, Sweden and The UK have won five times. In 2001 Copenhagen in Denmark had the largest audience and in 2008 and 2011 43 countries took part. The Eurovision Song Contest is the perfect opportunity to spend a night in with friends cheering on your country with Flags and watching the legendary scoring system.
