St Patrick's

St. Patrick's Day is celebrated on 17th March and is observed by The Irish. St. Patrick was the Patron Saint and National Apostle of Ireland who is credited with bringing Christianity to Ireland and was mainly known for driving the snakes from Ireland.

On St. Patrick's Day Irish families would go to Church in the morning and celebrate in the afternoon and apart from resturants and pubs most other businesses close.

The Shamrock is the National Flower of Ireland and was also called The seamroy and it symbolized the rebirth of Spring. It is believed that St. Patrick used The Shamrock to explain the Holy Trinity to the Pagans. Leprechauns are said to be the shoemakers for the fairies and live in Ireland and if you catch one of them you can make him tell you where he hides his gold.
