Bastille Day is on 14th July and commemorates the storming of the Bastille in 1789. There are many ways to celebrate this French Public Holiday which include a  French Themed Party or Picnic. Bastille Day is on 14th July and commemorates the beginning of the French Revolution. The Bastille was a medieval fortress and prison in Paris and the storming of the Bastille by troops took place on July 14th 1789. This is the French National Holiday and celebrates French culture and traditions. Post Offices, banks and most businesses are closed although some bakeries do remain open. There are public events which include a parade in Paris and firework displays where this is the perfect opportunity to wave hand held flags. There are also family meals and picnics that take place as well as dances and parties. The Eiffel Tower and the Tricolor French National Flag are important symbols of Bastille Day.

Bastille Day can be celebrated in many ways by using fantastic French themed party novelties.
